The idea first came from an umbrella when the client, director of Feng Chia University ask for a proposal for new construction on the campus. This dynamic prototype was built as a big shelter that can be open to blocking the sunlight and rain and then be closed to prevent bending with the wind. This experimental structure shows the capacity of the material. The joint was made by MDF after laser cut and could be assembled with bolt easily. In this workshop, I was a teaching assistant in charge of the design and material strategy.
